I was an Invited Speaker to impart a lecture on "Climate-Induced Long-term Water Availability in the Ganges River in Bangladesh," at Tropical Hydrology, Meteorology, and Disaster Mitigation Forum on 21 November 2019 in Haikou, Hainan Province, China.

I was an Invited Speaker to impart a lecture on "Water-Energy-Food Nexus: Path Making for Sustainable Development Goals in the Context of Bangladesh" at Dhaka Water Knowledge Days on 28 October 2019 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Made a scoping visit to Tribhuvan University in relation to the project on "Enhancing Capacity and Regional Cooperation for Research in Areas of Water Resources Management within Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) Network" during 30-3 January, 2018 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Made a scoping visit to Advanced Center for Water Resources Development and Management (ACWDAM) in relation to the project on "Enhancing Capacity and Regional Cooperation for Research in Areas of Water Resources Management within Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN) Network" during 26-29 December, 2017 in Pune, India.

Attended the write-shop of the project on "Water in South Asia: Impacts of Climate Change and Variability” during 27-28 November, 2017 in IIT-Delhi, India.

Presented a paper on Recent Trends of Sediment Loads in the Lower Brahmaputra River in Bangladesh in the International Conference on MOUNTAIN RESOURCES AND LIVELIHOODS IN THE HINDU KUSH HIMALAYAN REGION: HIGHER EDUCATION RESEARCH AND REGIONAL COLLABORATION FOR SUSTAINABLE MOUNTAIN DEVELOPMENT organized by ICIMOD-HUC & Sichuan University during 29 October – 01 November 2017 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China.

Imparted a lecture on An Overview of the State of Research on Upstream – Downstream Linkages in Sustainable Development and Climate Change and Adaptation in Higher Education Institutions in Bangladesh in  the Workshop on NETWORK BUILDING AMONG HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS FOR TRANS-BOUNDARY/REGIONAL COLLABORATION, Jointly Organized by Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh on 23 August, 2017.

Imparted a lecture on Sediment Rating Curve for the Lower Brahmaputra River in Bangladesh in the Third Pole Science Summit (TPSS) organized by the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Science (ITPCAS) on 10 July, 2017 in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.

Visited the Houtribdijk (27-kilometer long dike in the Netherlands, built between 1963 and 1975) on 8 June 2017. The dike connects the cities of Lelystad and Enkhuizen.

Imparted a lecture on Emerging Issues of Flood Risk Management in Bangladesh in a seminar organized by the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education on 13 June, 2017 in Delft, the Netherlands.

Visited Kiruna, Sweden to attend the Future Industry - Visitors Programme organized by the Swedish Institute during 10-11 May, 2017. The city, located 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, would be relocated due to a massive crack formed due to underground iron mining.

Visited Kathmandu, Nepal to attend the Inception Meeting of HUC Higher Education for Mountain Agriculture Work Group during 21-22 February, 2017.

Imparted a lecture on Agro-Ecosystem and Mountain Agriculture in the Hilly Regions of Bangladesh in the Inception Meeting of HIMALICA-HUC Higher Education for Mountain Agriculture Work Group, organized by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) during 21-22 February, 2017 in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Visited Xining, Qinghai Province, China to attend the International Workshop on Land Surface Multi-spheres Processes of Tibetan Plateau held during 8-10 August, 2016.

Visited Beijing, China to impart a presentation as Invited Speaker on Hydrological characteristics of flood flow and low flow of the Brahmaputra river in Bangladesh in a seminar organized by the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Science (ITPCAS) on 5 August, 2016.

Visited the Afsluitdijk (32-kilometer long closure dike in the Netherlands, built between 1927 and 1932) on 2 June 2016.  The dike dams off the Zuiderzee, a salt water inlet of the North Sea, and turns it into the fresh water lake of the IJsselmeer.

Imparted a Keynote Speech on Emerging Issues of Flood Risk Management in Bangladesh in the Workshop on Flood Risk Management, organized by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Government of Bangladesh on 22 June, 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Visited UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft, The Netherlands and participated in a meeting with Dr. Ir. Biswa Bhattacharya, Senior Lecturer in Hydroinformatics on 30 May, 2016.

Presented a paper on Change of Extreme and Mean Flows of the Brahmaputra River due to Climate Change at the Expert Workshop on High End Climate Impact and Extremes (HELIX) held at BUET, Dhaka on 30 April, 2016.

Visited Dresden in Germany and participated in a meeting with Mr. Frank Drechsel, Head of Environmental Protection Department on 8 October, 2015.

Visited German Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, Germany and participated in a meeting with Mr. Jan-Axel Voss, Deputy Head of Division, Climate and Environmental Foreign Policy, Sustainable Economy  on 7 October, 2015.

Visited Liege in Belgium and attended the Annual Meeting of the EU-funded HELIX project in during 13-16 September, 2015.

Chaired the Kick-off Meeting of the research project on Research on Disaster Prevention/Mitigation Measures against Floods and Storm Surge in Bangladesh organized by the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), BUET. The report was published in The Daily Star newspaper on 24 August, 2015.

Visited IIT-Delhi in India and participated in Experts' Workshop of EU-funded project on High End cLimate Impact and eXtremes (helix) on 24 July, 2015.

Chaired the Stakeholder Workshop on Harnessing of Climate-Water-Energy Nexus for Resource Security in the Ganges River Basin, jointly organized by the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), BUET and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan on 14 June, 2015 held at BUET. The report was published in The New Nation newspaper on 15 June, 2015.

Chaired the National Stakeholder Workshop on ESPA Deltas: Assessing Health, Livelihoods, Ecosystem Services and Poverty Alleviation in Populous Deltas, organized by the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM), BUET on 10 June, 2015 held at BUET in Dhaka. The report was published in The New Nation newspaper on 11 June, 2015.

Visited Colombo, Sri Lanka and participated as an Invited Speaker in the International Symposium on Impacts of Atmospheric Extreme Events on Geo-Surface: In a Changing Climate during 14-15 May, 2015.

Visited Colombo, Sri Lanka and attended the 4th Meeting of COMSATS' ITRG on Climate Change and Environmental Protection on 16 May, 2015.

Attended the certificate awarding ceremony of 4 week-long training course on 'Remote Sensing and GIS for Natural Hazard Assessment' organized by the Institute of BUET-JIDPUS on 5 April, 2015 at the seminar room of BUET-JIDPUS. Prof. Khaleda Ekram, Vice-Chancellor BUET was present as the Chief Guest.

Chaired the Inaugural Session of the 5th International Conference on Water and Flood Management (ICWFM-2015) organized by the Institute of Water and Flood Management, BUET on 6 March, 2015 held in Dhaka.

Chaired the Inaugural Session of the training program of South Asian Water (SAWA) fellows on Interdisciplinary Research: Concept and Methodologies, jointly organized by the Institute of Water and Flood Management, BUET and SaciWATERs, India on 14 December, 2014 held in Dhaka.

The Statesman Newspaper published the news of the workshop.
